Partager
Hello audiophiles and dongle lovers, today we have entry level dongle by Bqeyz - Lin, as many of you already know, bqeyz is company famous for an unique iems providing great sound quality and having even better appearance, there is no too much introduction for Bqeyz...
Disclaimer:
I got Lin along with Bq10 iem for an honest review, and everything that you will read is based on my personal experience, I'm not paid for this review...
Pro's:
Versatile conexant
Neutral-Bright
Detailed
Inexpensive
Durable
Con's:
Really nothing for this price and quality which Lin provides
Unboxing, Design, Spec and other:
Unboxing experience is pretty minimal due to price and size of dongle, basic paper box and inside is Lin with some paper, Design is classic dongle design with better plated cables, type c casing is from some fine aluminium and logo on it, cable is silver little bit rougher textures and 3.5 termination i have same type aluminium or metal around 3.5 termination, worthy to say, there is small rubber on both part of casing and termination, just to prevent snapping on most critical place, so this cable will last longer than ordinary cx pro or any other conexant, really nice detail by Bqeyz.
Specs:
Pretty standard specs for Conexant chips, with few improvements with cable quality and tuning 31993. Information is borrowed from bqeyz website, feel free to visit them, they have some really nice products and affordable prices.
Dac Chip: Conexant cx31993
PCM: 384/32
Cable length: 5.5cm
Color: Gray
Cable cores: 2 branches with 392 pcs of wires
Cable Material: Single crystal copper-plated silver wire
Output Power: 30mw for 32ohm
Lin like every small size dongle and that reinforcement its ideal for pocket or mobile music, at least i have used without any mercy, and beat my durability test of 2 weeks using it will all of my 3.5 iem's, usually cx pro couldnt last more than 2 weeks same like apple dongle, so this is better choice for sure...
Sound Impression:
Generally speaking it's already known chipset with already famous and most widest dac in history of this hobby, cx31993, and almost all of them sound same or almost the same, Lin soundsignature is neutral-bright, its very detailed and resolution and soundstage is average, i mean for this price and quality what you will get this is incredible, even people expect some unicorn or gem, this is just ordinary dongle for people who want to try first iem.
Low's:
Bass is normal, there isn't some improvement, Lin is very transparent when comes about low area, even on first sight looks like bass is flat, but isn't, its rather controlled and more depends of iems you using, sub-bass barely noticable and its not most accurate, just enough to give you some rumble, but again for this price its more than enough.
Mid's
Both vocals are ok, there is enough clarity, but there is little bit of brightness, yes this will give you some details extra and maybe layer or 2, but in reality female vocals will sound better than male one, and this is normal with all conexant products, that voice of male vocals it's so thin. Instruments are more pronounced than vocal and there is slightly metallic timbre, but not too much, just little bit, instruments are more closer to neutral even sometimes sound artificial. On some tracks instruments will be muddy over other, but on some other it's barely noticeable.
High's
Treble overall is not bad, giving you a lot of details, i meant a lot for this price range, treble is a little bit crispy and it's great for analytical listening, some really nice microdetails can be caught if you pay attention and have decent iem's. There is enough sparkle, and air is always on conexant more than average, Lin isnt best about smooth experience and sometimes on some tracks could sound little bit sharper with minimal harshness, there is slight sibilance on some tracks but not too much, and for my most longest session of 4+ hours, lin never fatigued, it performed nice without warming or any other failures...
Dynamic's:
It's not the best, but for this price, i guess it kinda ok, lin reach high peak slightly slower than competition, macro-dynamic is average, on some volumes could be some distortion in sound but overall is ok, micro-dynamic of lin is decent, some low sounds and whispers are ok, but sometimes there isn't enough precision and they go away, could be better but again...
Transients:
Hit and miss, sometimes it is too fast and sharp, sometimes too slow with some annoying decay, i have tried my other conexants and the same thing is happening...
Soundstage and Imaging:
Soundstage is a normal basic 3d soundstage, just enough for some normal experience. Imagining decent position can be easily pinpointed and shift is so minimal, scaling of instruments is ok. Every instrument sounds natural. Vocals are in centar and instruments are forward or on side and sometimes back due to unstable shifts.
Gaming:
I have tried few games and its not best dongle for gaming, but it's one of cheapest, yes steps could be easy pinpointed along with shots due to decent imaging, it's not spectacular but more than enough for smooth gaming and in combination with bq-10, those 2 becomes, budget kings for gaming...
Comparision:
JA11 fiio, JA11 is better in terms of technicalities than Lin, but Lin have edge on soundstage and imaging, and little bit resolution, price is almost same, but JA11 disappearing from the market. Worthy to mention, Lin supports 4.4, while JA11 have better software support with the fiio ecosystem...
KA11 fiio, KA11 is brutal and better in every possible way, but its 3 times more expensive, KA11 getting warm after usage, while Lin performs without any issues in term of thermals, KA11 is warmer signature, while Lin offering neutral-bright, so its more about personal choice...
Apple Dongle, Apple has lower build quality, there are some minor differences, and there are few versions of Apple dongle with different chips inside, in terms of sound more less its same experience...
CX-Pro, Everything is identical and very similar chip tuning, but build quality is so poor on CX-Pro, so Lin will win in this category because no1 wants to buy something and throw it away after 2-3 weeks...
Pairing:
This could be like a gear section, I have paired with everything, from super bright to lush iem's and best results in my opinion was some safer choice of neutral-warm or warm iem, just to compliment each other.
Conclusion:
Bqeyz creates decent products for the price, it would be nice to create some more advanced dongle or dac, just to compliment their awesome collection of products, not only for beginners, as well for experienced listeners in this hobby...
