BQEYZ Wind Review | It’s blowing in the wind, like a hirricane!-fisherc6

It’s blowing in the wind, like a hirricane!

Pros:

Energy, energy and more energy
Crystal clear mids and highs
Thunderous bass.

Cons:

Perhaps for some ears too clear?
BQEYZ Wind

I tried the Cloud first, since they are the newest in the BQEYZ line. So, when I switched to the Wind, I discovered immediately, these were more my style. It’s a more neutral, probably pure neutral presentation. All frequencies are well represented across the spectrum. Bottom to top, they are clear, articulate and indeed impactful and energetic. Of the two presented for this review, I absolutely loved the Wind the best. It is a semi open shell with a 10mm full range dynamic driver and bone conduction driver for deep bass. I swapped back and forth between Wind and Cloud often in order to get a direct comparison between the two. And in all, they appear to have very similar sensitivities, as volume did not need to be adjusted between the two. So, how do they sound? Where Cloud is bassy impactful, Wind is a bass cannon (not at all over done, but basically perfect). Midrange is a tad warmer than Cloud’s midrange, making male voices a bit more natural sounding. Treble retains that crystal clear sense of the Cloud. Although, it seems voices are closer in proximity on Wind. A happy accident, I plugged Cloud into my WA7 also. If I was going to keep a set, it would be Wind, on tubes, all the time. This was a near perfect synergy: a pair of Wind and a set of Mullard NOS 12AU7s. It was magical. There was liquidity to the midrange and treble that solid state just cannot bring to the table, except maybe MOSFET designs. I really enjoyed Wind, and continually put them into my ears for enjoyment. I do like a neutral tuning. I lean Neutral-warm, but in the absence of that warmth, my ears want neutrality.

Accessories:

-Six pairs of silicon tips (3 Referencel, 3 Atmospheric). I tried out the Reference tips and did not get to try the atmospheric tips. I settled on listening with my Penon Liqueur Orange tips. It was an excellent pairing.
-1 pair of foam tips
-Silver plated copper litz and graphene cable, available in both 3.5mm and 4.4mm termination
-Storage and transport zipper case, semi-hard construction. It’s an excellent case. It fit all the tips, cable and IEMs perfectly

Driver Technology:

10mm full range dynamic driver and bone conduction driver for bass

Associated Equipment:

-Chord Mojo 2
-Cayin RU7
-Shanling M3 Ultra
-Woo Audio WA7 Fireflies Gen 3
-Ranko Acoustics RHJ-1035 Dongle

Note:

Do not short change these IEMs on power. They don’t need it, but they really, really like it. I started out listening on my Ranko Acoustics dongle, but it wasn’t until I paired them up to the more powerful M3 Ultra and RU7 that they came alive. Then the Mojo 2 - even better. And then, when I plugged them into a random balanced cable I had sitting around and plugged them into the 1.5 watt Fireflies - HOLY COW!!!!
